Australia’s Largest Wind Turbines For 179MW Narrogin Wind Farm

Envision Energy (Envision) has received a notice to proceed (NTP) from Neoen for the turbine supply and installation package for Neoen’s 179MW Narrogin Wind Farm in Western Australia. The project will deploy 23 Envision EN182-7.8 MW smart wind turbines featuring a 590 ft. (155 m) hub height and a 597 ft. (182 m) rotor diameter, which are the largest wind turbines ever installed in Australia. Designed to maximize energy production while lowering the levelised cost of electricity, the turbines will help power nearly 100,000 Western Australian homes annually and contribute approximately 3% of the annual electricity demand of Western Australia’s South West Interconnected System (SWIS). Envision Energy has more than 100 GW of wind power capacity and over 50 GWh of battery energy storage systems delivered worldwide.

Neoen’s Narrogin Wind Farm is Envision Energy’s second active Australian wind project awarded within the past 12 months, following its entry into the Pilbara region with 17 EN-182/7.8MW wind turbines. It will also become Envision Energy’s first grid-connected wind farm for a client in Australia, connecting to Western Power’s existing 220kV transmission line into the South West Interconnected System (SWIS).  Envision will supply, deliver, install, and commission the wind turbines in partnership with UGL and CPB Contractors (members of the CIMIC Group). The company has also signed a 30-year operations and maintenance agreement with Neoen, providing long-term lifecycle support to maximize asset performance and reliability throughout the project’s operational life.
