Vestas Secures 527 MW Wind Turbine Order

Vestas has secured a 527 MW order in the United States using the V150-4.5 MW turbine variant. The V150-4.5 MW is designed for low wind sites and is one of the industry’s highest producing onshore low wind turbines.

The order is from an undisclosed customer for an undisclosed project. However, Vestas did share that the service agreement is a five-year AOM 5000 followed by a 5-year operational support agreement. This type of service agreement guarantees a certain level of energy production when the wind is blowing, rather than just uptime. It’s an energy-based availability guarantee, meaning Vestas is responsible for ensuring turbines operate when conditions are suitable for energy generation

Delivery is expected in the second quarter of 2026, with commissioning in the fourth quarter of 2026.
